Designer Icons

Allison here! Well, mostly. We’ve been working hard so I’m not all there. But I thought I’d invite you into my little design corner to see some of what I’ve been working on. By now most of you have visited the Facebook Page and have seen a few of the screenshots we’ve released. Unfortunately I don’t have any screenshots of the app’s topic page yet, but I’ve had to create some different icons for it and it looks pretty awesome. As soon as we finish that page I’ll make sure to post everything. But right now I’m just going to show you the icons!

I didn’t want to just use clip art, or photos someone else had taken, so I started drawing and inking and coloring all of these. I just want it known that I’ve never had an actual medical anatomy class. Ryan and Shiv say I’ve gotten most of ’em right, but it’s still a bit nerve wracking.

For the artistically inclined, I’m using Prismacolor pencils and Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens (S, M, F, B) on heavy weight card stock. Of course post-production is done in Photoshop (CS3) but that’s mostly a bit of levels and color correction because of the scanner we’re using.
Here they all are! Can you tell what they’re supposed to represent? Some of the topics were a bit harder to come up with an image for. Which ones are your favorite? Do you have a better idea for one? I would love to hear your thoughts on all of these.
